The Center for Public Administration and Governance Education (CPAGE) is the academic core of NCPAG and plays a pivotal role in realizing NCPAG’s mission as a center of excellence in public administration and governance education, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders. CPAGE oversees the academic programs that prepare students to become future leaders and innovators in public service.
As the administrative hub of the College, headed by the College Secretary, CPAGE is responsible for managing and implementing the following degree programs:
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
GRADUATE PROGRAMS
CPAGE oversees most aspects of students’ academic life, from admission to graduation.
Historically, CPAGE’s roots are intertwined with the establishment of NCPAG itself. CPAGE, originally conceived to support the academic backbone of NCPAG, has evolved into a vital institution within the college, responsible for administering its degree programs and ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant, rigorous, and responsive to the needs of public service.
Since its inception, the center has been at the forefront of advancing public administration education in the Philippines, through its degree programs. The growth of the academic program was developed by Assistant Dean for the Academic Program, Dr. Jose V. Abueva, together with Dr. Caridad S. Alfonso, previous NCPAG Dean Ma. Concepcion Parroco-Alfiler, and Ms. Virginia Almonte. Initially, NCPAG offered MPA program with Plan A, with thesis, and Plan B, for practitioners.
Then, NCPAG opened a Certificate in Public Administration program. Later, curriculum revisions featured the new Doctor of Public Administration (DPA).
Over time, CPAGE has expanded its role, and continues to be the Center for the development of public administration professionals, offering undergraduate and graduate programs.
