The Publications Office (PO) is the publishing arm of the College. It functions as an avenue for the production and dissemination of knowledge in Public Administration (PA) theory and practice.
A reputable, nurturing, and sustainable publishing unit that engages in the production and sharing of knowledge products that meet international standards and contribute to PA and governance scholarship and public discourse towards societal progress.
The PO’s main output is the Philippine Journal of Public Administration (PJPA), a refereed academic journal in circulation since 1957. Other knowledge resources like books, monographs, working papers, and other scholarly publications that contribute to the study and praxis of PA in the Philippines and abroad are also produced and disseminated by the PO. In addition to publication, the PO also engages in research and extension work.
PO has been publishing books that contribute to the development of the study and practice of Public Administration in the Philippines and abroad. Copies of these materials are available for purchase at the Publicaitons Office. A catalog of available titles can be accessed here.
In December 2018, the UP-NCPAG Publications Office (PO) pioneered the PJPA Research Writing Workshop and Fellowship as one of the ways to support scholars and practitioners to contribute to the journal issues. The activity follows the general mechanics of writeshops where authors work with experts and a panel of advisers to polish a manuscript for journal publication. The writeshop meets two important and intertwined objectives of the PJPA and the NCPAG as a whole: 1. continuously cultivate a culture of scholarship through academic publishing and 2. proactively solicit articles for the journal.
