The Philippine Journal of Public Administration (PJPA) held the third cycle of its research writing workshop and fellowship.
Eight fellows were accepted to participate in 2024 PJPA Research Writing Workshop and Fellowship, which took place at the Obdulia F. Sison Hall in UP Los Baños on 17-19 October 2024.
The fellows are John Cris Y. Cerafica, Alea Claire P. Ilustrisimo, Ma. Sarina I. Magdales, Ramon Manuel T. Nisperos, Louisivi J. Oliva, Sherwyn Renzo G. Ramirez, Cyryl Mei P. Reynoso, and Doreen R. Zules.
Dean Kristoffer B. Berse welcomed the participants to the fellowship, which was pioneered by UP-NCPAG Publications Office (PO) as one of the ways to support emerging scholars and practitioners to contribute articles to the PJPA and to achieve two intertwined objectives of the PJPA and the NCPAG as a whole: 1. continuously cultivate a culture of scholarship through academic publishing and 2. proactively solicit articles for the Journal.
Dean Berse noted that, due to the success of the first two cycles of the fellowship and “in line with NCPAG’s commitment to fostering a culture of rigorous research and academic excellence, it is ideal to hold the activity again for its third cycle.”
Six fellows from the first and second cycles of the workshop have succeeded in publishing their articles in the PJPA.
NCPAG faculty members Assistant Prof. Xavier Asuncion, Associate Prof. Simeon A. Ilago, Prof. Ebinezer R. Florano, and Assistant Prof. Abraham J. Manalo participated as mentors.
The PJPA editorial staff, led by the Journal’s editor-in-chief, Dr. Michael A. Tumanut, provided tips and inputs in developing manuscripts for publication.
