A delegation from the Citizen Congress Watch (CCW) of Taiwan, composed of university professors and civil society leaders committed to legislative transparency and accountability, visited the Center for Local and Regional Governance on 04 February 2025 to discuss potential areas for collaboration with the Center.
Founded on April 18, 2007, CCW is a coalition of 48 organizational members with a mission to monitor the legislature, eliminate inadequate legislators, and improve congressional culture. In pursuit of this mission, they release annual legislators’ scorecard reports, organize congressional oversight fora, hold press conferences, and conduct training programs for volunteers and interns. Through these efforts, they seek to strengthen public opinion and push Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan toward public welfare, transparency, efficiency, enlightenment, and integrity.
The following individuals were part of the CCW delegation:
Mr. Chien-Yuan Tseng (Chairman)
Mr. Tung-Ru Jeffery Shieh (Executive Supervisor and Convener of the International Affairs Committee)
Ms. Herlin Chien (Deputy Convener of the International Affairs Committee)
Ms. Ellen Yun-Ju Kao (Member of the International Affairs Committee)
Mr. James Shun-Chi Kan (Deputy Executive Director)
