The Center for Leadership, Citizenship and Democracy (CLCD) of the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) of the University of the Philippines Diliman is set to launch the book entitled “Faith, Duty and Country: The Multi-Layered Passions of Leonor Magtolis Briones” on Friday, 16 October 2020 via Facebook Live.
Written by Dr. Proserpina Domingo Tapales, retired professor and former Dean of UP NCPAG, the book tells the life story of Professor Emeritus Leonor Briones, who is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), and narrates her journey as a public servant and esteemed scholar in the field of Public Administration.
Gracing the occasion are UP Diliman Chancellor Fidel R. Nemenzo and UP NCPAG Dean Dan A. Saguil, with the special participation of Usec. Nepomuceno Malaluan and Usec. Alain Del Pascua of DepEd. Dr. Maria Victoria Raquiza and Dr. Maria Faina Diola of UP NCPAG will also deliver their respective tributes to their esteemed colleague and mentor in the College. Professor Herisadel Flores, Director of CLCD NCPAG, will also deliver the closing remarks.
