Exemplary public administration in the service of the nation

The National College of Public Administration & Governance (NCPAG), established on June 15, 1952, stands as the premier institution in the Philippines for public administration education. The College has changed names four times in recognition of the changing scope and perspectives as well as expectations of its roles and contributions to development. The transformation involved innovations and changes in the College’s functions and structure. The Academic Program became the Center for Public Administration and Governance Education (CPAGE). The existing centers Local Government, Policy and Administrative Development, and the Leadership, Citizenship and Democracy Program were strengthened to serve as premier research and extension units of the national government, local government and the voluntary sector. They were also renamed to Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG), Center for Policy and Executive Development (CPED) and Center for Leadership, Citizenship and Democracy (CLCD).

Today, CPAGE, CPED, CLRG, and CLCD work alongside the Publications Office (PO) and the NCPAG Library to support NCPAG’s commitment to instruction, research, and extension service. Through both formal and non-formal education, training, and advisory services, NCPAG empowers those in public service, including the business sector and civil society organizations. Over six decades, NCPAG has always been at the forefront of improving public administration in the Philippines, conducting research, extending advisory or consulting services, providing technical guidance, and training public servants and government leaders.
