CLCD, in collaboration with DOST-DLLO, conducts 2nd Capacity Training Program

The Center for Leadership, Citizenship, and Democracy (CLCD), in partnership with the DOST Department Legislative Liaison Office (DOST-DLLO), conducts its 2nd capacity training program titled “The 2nd Competency Advancement Project in Policymaking and Stakeholder Engagement for the Department of Science and Technology,” from October 22 to 25, 2024, at the New Clark City Athletic Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

Day 1 of the training began with an opening program on October 22, 2024. UP-NCPAG Dean Kristoffer Berse welcomed the participants with a message emphasizing the future success of the Joint Training Program with DOST-DLLO, highlighting its goal of equipping DOST personnel with the essential skills for effective, timely, and well informed policy formulation and implementation.

This was followed by an inspirational message of DOST Secretary, Hon. Renato Solidum Jr. that highlighted the importance of creating policies that matter. DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Hon. Sancho A. Mabborang, also delivered an inspiring message, stressing the significance of understanding legal process and mechanism related to policy making.” Finally, DOST Undersecretary for Special Operations, Hon. Teodoro M. Gatchalian’s inspirational message underscored the importance of recognizing trends for future policy development.

The training is designed to strengthen the capacity of DOST executives and representatives across the country to manage and advance their priority legislative initiatives, equipping them with essential tools and knowledge for effective policy making and stakeholder engagement.
