Abraham Manalo is an Assistant Professor at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), UP Diliman. Prior to NCPAG, he was a Professor at the New Era University and the founding Chair of its Department of Public Administration. He teaches courses in political development, public policy, statistics and quantitative analysis, and research methods.
Abe is a policy specialist with work on modern biotechnology and biosafety regulations. He was involved in crafting the Philippine national guidelines for genetically modified plants, gene-edited crops, and genetically modified animals and fish. He currently chairs the Technical Committee on Policy Research and Advocacy of the Department of Agriculture Biotechnology Program Office and sits as member of the technical working group of the Department of Science and Technology involved in the drafting of guidelines for genetically modified insects.
Abe is the Executive Secretary of the Biotechnology Coalition of the Philippines, a non-profit
organization working for the safe and responsible use of modern biotechnology towards national
development.
