The Center for Policy and Executive Development (CPED) invited Dr. Xun Wu from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to give a lecture on “Building Capacity for Big Data Applications in Government.” The open and free lecture was held in the NCPAG Case Room on May 14, 2019. Students, faculty, and government employees attended the event. Dr. Wu presented big data as that dynamic, large, and disparate volumes of data being created by people, tools and machines that the government must collect with innovative and scalable technology and analytically process. The lecture also imparted that requirements for big data starts with the government’s initiative to share data.
