Vice President Leonora Robredo is the keynote speaker at the opening program of the upcoming 2018 Annual Conference of the Asian Group for Public Administration (AGPA).
Jointly organized by AGPA and the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP NCPAG), the activity will be held at the NCPAG complex in Quezon City, the Philippines on November 25-28, 2018.
Among the esteemed speakers who will be in the plenary sessions are Azwar Abubakar, former Governor of Aceh, Indonesia; Prof. Eva Maria Belser, Director of the Institute of Federalism of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland; Prof. Alfredo Mahar Lagmay, Executive Director, UP Resilience Institute; and Prof. Jiang Wu, President of Asian Group for Public Administration.
Around 200 public administration and governance scholars and practitioners are expected to attend the conference, which will focus on the theme “Resilience and Strong Institutions: Responses and Solutions of Public Administration to Disruptions, Stresses and Shocks.” Of the total number of attendees, 48 will be presenting papers under three sub-themes: Political and Administrative Resilience, Risks, Crisis and Disaster Management, and Sustainable Development Goals and Strong Institutions.
The conference will also host four seminar sessions exclusively for doctoral students.
AGPA is a regional group affiliated to the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), a global organization based in Brussels and established in 1930. The UP NCPAG is one of the leading institutions in PA education, research and extension in Asia.
