Former NCPAG Dean Edna Co is now UP’s Vice President for Public Affairs.
News of Dr. Co’s appointment was published yesterday by the UP System Information Office on its website. “Notice of the approval of her ad interim appointment was released by the Office of the Secretary and of the Board of Regents on September 19. Her appointment was “effective September 1 to serve at the pleasure of the President,” the report said.
Dr. Co will take over the post vacated by another NCPAG faculty member, Dr. Prospero E. de Vera, who was recently appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education and adviser to the GRP panel for the peace process.
Dr. Co, who served as Dean from 2010 to 2013, is a full professor at NCPAG. She teaches courses in administrative theory, Philippine administrative system, administration of social development, and campaign finance.
She also concurrently serves as Director of UP’s Center for Integrative and Development Studies (CIDS) and the newly-established Centre International de Formation des Autorités et Leaders (CIFAL) Philippines.
