A memorandum of agreement for a scholarship program between the University of the Philippines and the House of Representatives was signed on October 28, 2014.
The MOA formalizes the partnership of the HOR and the UP-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) in the implementation of the Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. Scholarship Program, which “is designed to advance the cause of professional development of the House Secretariat.”
House Deputy Speaker Carlos Padilla, and University of the Philippines Chancellor, Dr. Michael Tan signed the MOA on behalf of HOR and UP, respectively, in a ceremony held at the Andaya Hall, Batasan Pambansa complex.
Also in attendance in the event are UP-NCPAG Dean Maria Fe Villamejor-Mendoza, Deputy Speaker Pangalian Balindong, Deputy Speaker Henedina Abad; Hon. Anthony del Rosario; Hon. Rufus Rodriguez; Hon. Francisco Acedillo; Hon. Michael Angelo Rivera; Hon. Joaquin Chipeco; and Accounts Chairman Hon. Eleandro Jesus Madrona; Secretary General Marilyn Barua-Yap; and other officials of the UP-NCPAG and of the House Secretariat.
