NCPAG Student is one of Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children for 2013

A third year Bachelor of Public Administration student of the UP-NCPAG was selected as one of this year’s “Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children.”

Emir-Deogene Mendoza, whose father works in Saudi Arabia, graduated valedictorian from the Makati Science High School and is a consistent University Scholar, currently holding a general weighted average of 1.11.

Emir-Deogene was also chosen to deliver a speech on behalf of the awardees.

“I wanted to bring them something that would recognize their hard work and sacrifice…This award is not for me. This award is for my parents, for our parents,” said Mendoza in his speech, as reported by GMA News.

The Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children award is given annually by the Bank of the Philippine Islands as a way of “honoring exceptional Filipino students [and paying] tribute to the sacrifices and hard work of their parent(s) overseas.”

The awarding ceremony was held on December 2, 2013 at the BPI Head Office in Makati City. UP-NCPAG Dean Maria Fe V. Mendoza accompanied Emir-Deogene in the said event.
